As a part of our AS media coursework we were required to recreate a magazine so that we could understand the coventions and what was required to create a music magazine. After searching Google for appropriate magazines that I could re-create, I chose this cover for NME magazine.

I decided to use this magazine front cover because i had an available male model who had the same hair colour and facial hair, although he did not have to the same eye colour as Noel ( the male on the NME magazine ) but this was not a problem as i was able to edit the eye colour in photoshop.

To create the magazine I had to;-

-Find a magazine that I would like to recreate.

-I then used the font 'Arial' for the title of the magazine 'NME', after that I used paint to edit the black out lines and the white background.

-Thirdly I created all the sub heading and words using the same font.

-I then took a picture of some one of the same sex (male) doing a similar pose.

-After placing everything i have created onto the page i then created the same layout.

I used photo shop to edit the picture to change my models eyes as originally they had brown eyes, as you can clearly see in the magazine that i am creating the person in the image has blue eyes

Strengths;
- The magazine fits the seasonal theme which is winter/christmas.
- The models on the front cover look like they enjoy learning, which fits the masthead of the magazine. The models also look like they are happy and friendly, this makes the magazine come across as humble.
- Its a meduim shot of two students in a study area, which also suit the purpose of the magazine.
- There is a set colour scheme on the front cover of the magazine which consists of red, blue and white. This is a strength because it also fits the seasonal theme.
- The cover lines and incentives are appropriate for the magazine.

Weaknesses;
- The background does not look professional and makes the front cover look scruffy.
- The models are not using direct mode of address to enage the audience.
- Some of the cover lines do not stand out from the background and therefore are unclear.
- The colour of the mast head does not fit the colour scheme or the seasonal theme.

Strengths;
- The magazine front cover looks exciting and bright.
-All the cover lines and incentives stand out and are bright, all the incentives are what the target audience are interested in and this will draw the attention of the audience. 
- On this magazine front cover there is a set colour scheme which appeals to both sexes. 
- there is a wide use of pictures on the front cover which makes it look more interesting and less informative, which important as then it will attract the audience.
- I have used the same font throughout the front cover and it is very clear and easy to read.

Weaknesses;
- There is not a back ground colour, if there was it may make the magazine look more professional and it may appeal more to the audience.
- The front cover may look to hectic, which could put people off from buying the magazine. There is too much going on.
- There are too many colours in my colour scheme, i should keep to 3 or 4 colours max in my colour scheme.
- The front cover of the magazine does not look very proffesional and does not look like it suits the purpose. I should of maybe took abit more care into creating this front cover.

Strengths;- The model is using direct mode of adress (eye contact with the audience).
-The cover lines stand out from the background, i have used colours that do not blend in from the background. It is also a clear font which is easy to read.
- The cover lines will interest the reader, so therefore they will be more attracted to the magaazine.
- The incentive will persuade people to read and buy the magazine.
- There is the use of other pictures on the front cover of the magazine which makes it look more exciting the the picture suits the purpose of the school magazine.

Weaknesses;
- The picture looks abit to editited and dark, it could look alot more natural and lighter.
- The covers line are all to close together and there are to many of them, makes the magazine look to informative, they should be more spaced out around the front cover and there should should be less cover lines.
- There are to many colours, i did not stick to the colour scheme.
- The magazine front cover looks like it is aimed more for females, i should of used colours which appeal to both sexes.
